The work of Andrea Grau explores, based on her biography, interior human processes such as memory, affections, and emotions, with an emphasis on sensitivity and nostalgia; and exterior processes such as the construction of identity, belonging, displacement, change, and resilience.
Using an abstract, gestural, and rhythmic language, as well as the development of a symbolic and personal calligraphy, Grau reflects on communication, affections, and emotional climates in contemporary times through interlocutory compositions of the ineffable, internal atmospheres, and sincere manifests, inviting the viewer to a slow and reflective contemplation in an era marked by overstimulation.
